Another interesting feature at Natural Tunnel State Park is the Wilderness Road Blockhouse.

The replica and adjoining Visitor Center, along with volunteers from the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association, illustrate the role that the area played during westward expansion.

The park and the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association partner to provide three annual events, information for which is listed below, and volunteers with the DBWTA open the Blockhouse each Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. from May through October.

  • Harvest Festival – Saturday October 26, 2019
  • Old Christmas – Saturday January 4, 2020
  • Frontier Muster and Trade Faire – Saturday April 25 and Sunday April 26, 2020
